Hang the Moon

Normally, I would say this book had the potential to be one of my favorites, or at least rank pretty high on my list. However, I was in a bit of a reading slump while going through it, which affected my experience. The first few days, I read a little, but there was one day when I really got into it—what I like to call a "super read" day. On those days, I devour a good chunk of a book, sometimes finishing it in just a day or two because I read during every possible moment—while eating, commuting, or whenever I have a spare pocket of time.

Usually, I can finish a book pretty quickly because of this, but for some reason, this one took me over three weeks. I don’t necessarily want to blame the book itself, but because it took me so long, it started to feel more like a chore than something I was enjoying. I had to push myself to finish it because the return date was looming, and I just barely managed to complete it in time. It’s a book I’m sure I would have liked under different circumstances, but the fact that I had to force myself through it really impacted my overall experience.
